TC and ABS light on, no speedo.
« on: 11 July 2012, 22:30:11 »

For the last few weeks I have had no speedo, the TC and ABS lights on but sometimes it comes back and I've been told that this means the ABS ecu has had it.  Does anyone have one to suit a 2001 2.5 V6 Omega Elite?  Please message me.

Thanks.

stick a wanted advert in the parts section or you could pull it out yourself and send it away to get fixed  :y

Someone will be along with the company name soon  ;D

Or due to your post count, stick the wanted advert in the test section and ask a admin if they will move it for you

Thanks to both of you for the help.  I'll give both things a go and see what we can do.

Thanks again.

Have a read here ... comprehensive guide to the job ... except it does NOT tell you to have a swear box handy and a LARGE supply of coins !!!

The actual job is easy ... but access is a pain.. there are 6 torx screws .. 4 of which can only be done by "feel" .... I did not remove all the bits listed in the guide .....

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90627.0

The unit is on the right hand side of the engine as you look at it, has a whole load of brake pipes coming out the top .. the bit you have to take off is the electronic pack underneath .... power steering gets in the way a tad... :(

If I ever had to do it again I would opt for the extended screws/spacers option ..... that I really, really, wish had been written when I did this job .... on the old 2.5 about 5 years ago !!!

HTH  :)

Lol @ swear box.  Thanks for the help I shall have a look at the guide and make a start.  I had heard it was in an awkward place but not having changed one I didn't realise... I'll let you know how I get on and how much money goes in the box!

Cheers,

Dave
