Studies in the US have also shown that it slows the growth rate of cancer, which would explain why my oncologist told me (unofficially of course) to smoke as much of it as I could afford during my treatment over this last 20 months.
It also had the added bonus of helping to restore my sleep pattern as well as making me eat like a demon to get the weight back on for surgery.

I find a good bike ride or run is the best stress buster. That reminds me, I need a new MP3 player. And headphones with a wire designed for people who aren't dwarves...
