Hi, had 2 emails from the same person I have copy/pasted them below.
I am 99.9% sure this is a scam message just wondering if anyone else has had similar messages from an ad on auto trader?


1st message,

2nd message after my reply "give me a call to discuss this" 6 days later I got this message,....
Thanks for the swift response, just to tell you that am okay with the condition and price, also am ready for its purchase and my form of payment will be by sending you Bank Check or Banker draft payment with a 1st class mail delivery or 2 days mail delivery via FED EX which delivers next day.

I'll be responsible for the pick-up of the car and the movers money will be included in your payment to avoid delay, cost of postage and to enable them schedule an appropriate time for the pick-up at your location as i have other properties to be moved. I Would really love to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be possible.

Please do get back to me with your.............................

Absoloutely, you would get a cheque for too much and then ask for some back which you would send and original cheque to you will not be honoured. Even if you own a barge pole...don't use it to touch this offer.

It definitely smells like a scam. Might be worth going ahead anyway to see what comes of it. If they send you a check and its too much then obviously you would have to wait for it to clear b4 you could give back the difference and it would also need to clear before you could release any goods. If it was me I'd get it posted to a different address than my home as well just so they dont get all your details, eg. a friend or relatives house.  Just a thought.

Definitely not a route I`d choose to go down, if it`s anything to do with organised crime they will want their money back and would go to any lengths to get it, the last thing you want to do is give them friends or relatives details, it`s not worth the hassle it could cause.

This is defo a scam - I have had a few like this (one from someone on an oil rig ) and did some investigating

My understanding is that all will seem legit - you will get a cheque and it will clear you will pay for the collection and delivery and then some time later the funds will be recovered from your account as the cheque is reported as bogus (by the buyer in some instances) or it is forged or stolen.

And there is nothing you can do about it as car will be in foreign lands.

A little searching on't'internet will soon confirm this
