my tuppence worth.... you will be bored of it in about a fortnight, you can get several bikes in that style in the 500/650 engine capacity bracket which are not exactly fast but have enough grunt to keep you amused for a while,................re. kh250,s i have some very good and some very bad memories of those.

Just picked up a few bits of this thread. Seems people are going back a few years, fine but 250cc then was fine, I did many many miles on a superdream. Am I right in thiking that they are governed now? so giving them less power than they used to have. :-/
I may be wrong ofcourse. ;) ;)
Like the style of the bike though. ;D

I considered a Kettle when I was looking for a 70s bike a few years ago, but settled on a mint RD400.

It was funny how many people would stop you and talk about when they had an RD. I was coming back from betws-y-coed one Sunday and not hanging around when a police bike pulled me over, turns out he used to have one.

Should have added, the reason I was looking is cos youngest stepson is coming up 16 and wants a bike, not a scooter.
Got into trouble cos swmbo not so keen, and there was me visiting the Local Honda shop, not a safe place, I was sooooo tempted, for me not him. ;D ;D ;D

i ran me own bike business for 10 years so all sorts of stuff past my way, if you like cruisers go for something like a vt600 shadow or xv535 virago as these are low light and have mild mannered vee twin engines in 'em. These would take you every where at a rate that would be comfortable with the ability to maintain motorway traffic , oh and their both better than riding buzzy little 250cc that lack power
