National Insurance Number
« on: 15 April 2008, 11:33:05 »

I need some help here, my eldest son is 15 (16 in august) and leaving school at the beginning of May and he cant work full time until august (Thats when he's 16) because of the National Insurance Number. Is it possible to get one earlier so that he can work full time instead of waiting until the end of August.
I heard of something called a Emergence National Insurance Number. Is is real or is my mate just lying?

Thanks,
Jamie

Not too sure. :-/ The best thing to do is to phone your local tax office and they will advise.

National insurance cards used to arrive 3 months before the 16th birthday, has this changed now?
