Might just be an older person thing but has anyone else noticed that the sound effects in films are deafening and the dialogue very quiet? Add to that the American drawl and poor annunciation of words. Oh and loud background noise and effects and music........ No wonder Citizen Kane is one of the best films ever!

We watched Terminator4 and a rather good film version of the Edge of Darkness last night. Both were pretty good examples of this modern problem. Next will be the gabbling of words (speaking really quickly ) another unpleasant modern trend.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Which is why I've stopped going. That and the fact that most films are recycled popular culture drivel and you're surrounded by retards in the cinema. I can't be doing with surround sound either.

Yeah has anyone noticed all these new skinny tvs have terrible tinny sound quality that you struggle to hear? It actually offends my ears. Must be something to do with lack of depth giving poor base response, therefore not a well rounded sound which makes it hard work for my battered ears. Give me an old 14" portable any day. The problem is the separate digi boxes are shiite, I literally can't get any channels atm. Bloody hell, I'm only 29

I haven't been to the pictures for about 10 years.
Just too loud and imho, the sound quality is shite 

Nowdays, i'd rather buy the dvd and stick it threw the dsp amp and watch it in the comfort of my own home 
That way, I don't have to put up with the inbread retards that live round here
