Crunch...
« on: 08 August 2012, 10:04:49 »

That sickening feeling as your miggy slides under the back of a Volvo estate at 5mph in slow moving traffic on the A303 at Stonehenge. Happenend on a roundabout which was chocker and I have a suspicion he was reversing at the time to pull out and turn right out of the jam. But ho-hum, proving that would be tough.

Here's the damage - http://www.fent.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/crunch.jpg

I'll be buggered if I'm claiming on the insurance, premium will rocket next year if I do.

Anyway... amongst other things, the passenger side headlight has been pushed back and broken the casing that holds the lamp cluster in place. My question is - is it possible to replace the casing or is it complete new headlamp unit time? Seems a shame as all the lights work perfectly and the lens is perfect.

Thanks in advance, everyone!

That's disappointing news F3 - I hope it doesn't cost too much the rectify the damage. :y

As an aside, I would assume that your avatar depicts an oyster rather than anything else? ;D ;D ;D :-*

Could have been a lot worse mate. Looking at the picture, it's probably bent the steel panel the headlights are fitted to, you will need them checked for alignment.

Bonnet might pull out :-\ I would guess that the slam panel has been pushed back at least an inch, again that might pull out otherwise you'll need to replace that as well :-\ on the plus side you seem to have hit it square :y

I have a grill in very good condition if you need it for a modest donation say £10.  Still on the car but will be taking off weekend after next probably.  And I'm 2 miles from you.
