Hello,

I'm doing a wishbone arm replacement on my Omega, and I notice that there are some plastic pieces that are attached to the front bushings on the wishbone arms. They are removable.

Are these supposed to be there or are they simply transport protection? On my old bushings the plastic was there, but I know these bushing was replaced by a non-mechanic. It also seems like the plastic has made wear on the old bushing.

Hope to hear from you guys soon, about to tackle this job in the morning. Here's a pic of the new one, plastic piece is the white in the middle:

No, is there something special to be aware of? Do you know the torque settings?

See the guide. It's all there, but most important thing is to tighten the bolts with the suspension at the the normal ride height. Or the bushes will be over stressed and fail early.

If on the drive, easiest way to do this is to jack the car heigh enough to place ramps under the wheels. Lower the car onto the ramps so the suspension is compressed. Then tighten the bolts, also gives room under the car to wield a torque wrench.

Or as the guide if no ramps available.

This bit is important to get right. ;)
