well i wouldnt go as far as calling them filth and i do respect police offers and think thay do a fantastic job, however i was quite shocked to see a driver who should have, as part of his job, common sence just have like none at all, and yeah i've got to admit, it looks cool as chuff

I agree Pauley -- but having once worn the uniform myself I am biased --- I have the utmost respect for these guys doing what they do in this day and age --- I am from the "Heartbeat" Days, not "Road Wars" ( maybe a bit of Hot Fuzz!). We still had whistles and chains, batons were wooden truncheons, the Pye PR was new fangled and what the hell was body armour !!!!!!

I would imagine it was completly different in your day when you where employed to protect queen and country where now its to screw as much money out of the motorist we can, thats what pisses me off and i would also imagine a few ex officers too.

You could be right there  :y

I remember reading about this on BBC news.  The officers were reported to their superiors and got into trouble for it.  I know a lot of police and I know they get away with more than they should IMHO, the general rule is 'Dont get caught.....!'

I'd rather be stopped by a policeman than be caught on camera  :exclamation

To be honest I don't have a problem with the police, I think as a rule they do a good job in difficult times. There is always going to be criticism of them because they're catching people doing things that they shouldn't. They're also people, and people make mistakes sometimes.

I got stopped for "accelerating too fast" once, which I thought was a complete joke given where I was at the time and the fact I didn't go above the legal limit, but hey, he found myself and the car to be 100% and sent me on my way. Suffice to say I was anal in my driving to the letter of the law for the rest of the journey because I was assuming the local bobbies would be on the lookout for my plate just in case.

I was looking at a B4 subaru legacy at an auction the yesterday and a chap came up and told me how they pull attention from the police "I once got stopped twice in a weekend for speeding" he said blaming the car.

Maybe he'd not have been pulled over and done for speeding twice in a weekend if he hadn't been speeding. We all do it from time to time, but you don't tend to get caught or pulled over if its not somewhere inappropriate (granted this doesn't account for getting pulled for 90 on a motorway at 3am)

Watching "Traffic Cops" at the mo on BBC1...I'm sure its edited to make it good-press for the police, but some of their hunches are superb.

Cameras dont catch drug dealers with bald tyres. Albeit with a little more situation based judgement, more cops please!  :y

Nope it was real, I remember reading it.  The officers saw the kids messing around on this road with their crappy boy racers cars and decided to show them what you can do with some proper training (and the right car)

Numpties didnt count on spotty sniveling chav putting the mobile phone recording on the web.

Still searching for the article

Couple of my acquaintances train people to do that... very impressive.

From the video, it looks like they're showing the local yoof how to really drive, impress them and so get their attention. :y
