whats the best way to look after metal brake pipes?
i suppose the best way is to replace with copper but they are in good condition with just a bit of rust so ive rubbed them down and was either going to paint them or use some underseal on them, but i dont know if mr m.o.t man would like that. can you paint/ cover them or is that a mot no no?

Spray as much of the crap known as "Underbody Schultz" on as you like.
The MOT tester is NOT allowed to to remove anything (paint or otherwise) from a vehicle under test, and Schultz hides a multitude of sins if need be  ;)

you can paint them with anti-rust type paints.. but best is epoxy which is poisonous and requires  a mask

My nice Mr MOT Man picked mine up the other week when I MOT'd my Omega, so I'll be using a bit of Kluber on them. The stickiest, thickest grease known to man!

It'll be added to the overall cost of a tin of Beanz  ...........................  ::)

Used to use this on winch gears at my old place, bloody evil stuff. Even a hot jet wash wouldn't fetch it off :o

Why would you want to hide possible problems with brake pipes? I would want to know and rectify.... ::) ::)
