seat looms
« on: 21 August 2012, 16:43:40 »

A knowledge question really, with the recent posts on retro fitting seats to lower models and talk of looms being there not being there.  Today in local scrappy couple of F/L GLS both had seats removed and pushed into rear of car, on looking I saw that there were two small connectors which I assumed went to the motor but located on the side was a large block connector with at least 3 empty sockets al wired and diaaperaing into the large loom heading for dash.  Would these empty connectors be the ones for all the other functions? so if the se cars were on the road the owners could have fitted say elite seats.

The two connectors could have been for the pre tensioners and air bag, they are normally yellow. The bigger block is for the heated seats and seat movement and it depends how many wires were connected to the bigger block as to what worked. Even the GLS had electric height adjustment ;)

Pete yes the two thin connectors one was yellow as for the blocks I looked at there were threesockets all connected into the loom, so as you say one must have been for height, the others for whatever else, guess it is hit an miss on what was factory fitted
