It may look worse than it did  Thing is you try and cut the rust out but where to stop ....? Only so much filler you can mix in one day  If i had the shackles i would drop mine into a bodyshop for the work ... needs must though so battling on with the diy .

If you can find replacement doors it just leaves the arches to sort.The arches dont look that bad imo,could be fixed with bilthamber rust treatment and then paintwork at a body shop. Would cost a few bob to have done,so depends how keen you are and also your budget. It would make the car look nice,but you will never get the money back if you sell it.

Hes done it!! Syme fixed my Miggy!! 

i popped round earlier and this was the state of my glove box area 



if you take a look at the far right hand side Solenoid, one of the vac cables was stuck behind the solenoid and squashed to oblivion!
was that right Syme??  you know me, you work miracles and its all milk bottles to me mate!! ha ha

anyway, theyve all been made accessable and not squashed up

and as of now, my heating is working better than ever! and it changes HOT to COLD and back again with ZERO problems
and no error codes either! now that i have Vac, she flys! got 121 mph on the A420 on the way home! Shhh!!!!! 

and thanks to ROB G for flogging me his 2 Solenoids, didn't need them mate, so i have 2 spare now
mine were all okay in the end
unless anyone wants to buy the ones on their way to me for £10 (postage included)

also bought myself a pollen filter on the way home as mine was Black as the ace of spades! 

and if anyone's is interested, Halfords are selling 4 litres of Castrol Magnatec for £17.50!!! down from £28 i think

last thing that's left is the rust, and Symes doing that for me in the next few weeks
i saw his handy work today on another persons car (a Mazda 626) and i couldnt even see where the rust was

Well job done told you before wayne am a hotrodder first mate omega to complicated for your average person to be honest dont care who wants to argue the point far too many things to go wrong and costly really - you need a sense of humour with these old buses mate-but when running properly they are nice and if had to make choice between my rover p6 or miggie p6 would win hands down mate

i still reckon that about 8 years ago, shortly after a Nokia bluetooth kit installer bloke came round my house
he MUST have done it!!!! now.... where is his number so i can shout at him!!

The weird thing is, the heating was fine for 2 years after he installed it lol

What's wrong with the Castrol oil? I was tempted by the price for my next oil change but is the recommendation here to stick with VX oil?

Recommendation is to get a tradeclub card (by joining ABS) and then use VX10/40 semi. Buy 3 get 4th one free on trade club.Works out around £12 for 5 litres.

Given the price, most people use VX semi synth - £50 for 20L (4x5L) is hard to beat. Even VX fully synth is only £73 for 20L (4x5L), making them £10 or £14 for 4L as a direct comparison to the Castrol..

Castrol also has a reputation for rapidly generating 'mayo' in the filler neck and breather system, I believe

Sometimes, a little more listening, and a whole lot less "excitement" will make things much, much clearer

The Vx oil is recommended by OOF because it 1) an oil well suited to the Omega and 2) on TC the most economic solution.

Oil change using 6 lits Castrol costs £26.25, and using GM 10/40w semi on TC (@£48 for 20 lits paid 2 weeks ago) £14.40 - no brainer really
