Totally agree Ian.  I always get the most enjoyment when I'm alone in my Omega, and the roads are empty!  :y

Sometimes I think I enjoy driving the Omega more than the 'sporty' cars I've had; I took it up to Brum last night in preference to the M3 in fact.. although that was largely because it looked like rain (and it honked it down on the way home) and the back end of the M3 is looking a little like my head.

But still.. relaxing on the motorway and can be hustled down the lanes :y

Nothing like the feeling of floating down the motorway with the v6 purring away. Love it!
Also love knowing that people look admiringly at the car as I waft around town. Still say the omega is one of the most handsome cars on the road.

I quite agree, it certainly gives me more satisfaction than any other car I have driven. I suppose my old XJ6 JAG was the nearest in driving pleasure, but as I recall the 4.2 didn't have the poke of my 3.2 Elite, even not in 'S' mode. :y

The 6.0HE I (briefly) had had a lot more poke than me 3.2 .. t'was quite frightening at times ;D

Done a trip to Billingham on TeeSide this Sunday from Bristol, straight there no stopping a cup of coffee and then it was straight back again only stopping to refuel on the A1m. The old four pot never missed a beat and yes officer i was doing more than 69.5. Verdict superb big thumbs up for the old girl.  :y :y

I'm currently running two cars my old Omega and a deisel Modeo, I know which I prefer, even with the age difference and the Ford gadgets. The Modeo seems more akin to a domestic appliance than a proper automobile. The Omega has soul.

I'm not sure about pride, but I do find the car deeply satisfying.

It's quiet, spacious, comfortable, effortless, discreet, and does all of these unobtrusively. That it manages decent performance and economy at the same time as also useful.

I like it much more than the 525 I had a while back, which struggled to acheive all of that and annoyed me due to some deep seated design flaws.

When everything is right with it, yes.

I love my omega....when its good.

But when it's bad...
