Disguised cars photos - under test
« on: 06 September 2012, 11:48:37 »

Had a day out yesterday and went up the Sierra Nevadas here in Southern Spain. Always an interesting drive even in my diesel bus! You can drive to about 8000 feet up before the road is closed to cars. You used to be able to drive all the way across and down the other side. It was then the highest road in Europe.

Nice winding never ending uphill drive with great scenery. There were six "disguised cars" with white and black paint. There were also a few Citroens and Seats about with them. They were repeatedly driving up and down the road (it changes altitude about 2000 metres in 15 miles). Sometimes with a support vehicle in front and another behind. Then they would stop and look at a laptop screen in the car before repeating the process. On one occasion they stopped and connected something under the bonnet.(the grey box near the scuttle). I asked the guy what make of car they were - he said Ferrari! I think they must be Citroens. One car had huge integral front to rear "roof bars" but moulded as part of bodywork i.e. about 9 inches high and six inches thick at the base. I didn't get a photo of that car sadly. What a great job they had.

French plated cars and they had a huge non liveried box lorry and box trailer for car transport parked outside a hotel.

I also saw two Jags (with shape and detail disguises) on test. No photos sadly and a two seater or possibly one seater VW impressive looking sports car with no disguise - never seen one of those before either.

Here is the bus at 2500metres (higher than the Ski resort)
