OK

This has been covered a few times before but, given the problems that our resident computer literate Spanner Twirlers (The Boy and N.E One Else) has keeping the site afloat, its perhaps time to raise it once again.

I know and remember in part the reasons for the migration that created this site from its previous incarnation.

We mainly agree with the ethos that info is and should be free.  

Further, I have also recently experienced a fair splat of problems, like others, with viewing this site over the past few days and, like others, initially blamed my ISP (BTInternet) and reinstalled software like a token sacrificial Bill Gates programmer, to no avail....

But....

If it means parting with a few sheckels to assist in the funding of hard/software to keep the site going, I would be more than willing to put my hand into my electronic pocket to assist.  I cannot provide any computer technical knowledge (already said where my strengths lie) but would willingly pay for the continued entertainment (and educational) value this site provides.

It is appreciated that I will probably be ripped to bits for, yet again, suggesting a membership fee but if thats one way to readily assist then, to me, no problem.  

And longer term, could allow us trade Club status in our own right (after the year etc) rather than shell out elsewhere?   :-/

I personally wouldn't object to paying a donation if it would help iron out a few problems :y

I totally agree, We all know the Admins work bloody hard to keep this place running, and as much as they want to keep it free we are all willing to help with costs. This place is for the benefit of all of us, so its the least we can do ;)

Not entirely sure what is causing it, so we're monitoring it through 11pm.

I should probably add that the server is better than anything we could afford - ie its a dedicated server.  Network bandwidth is a current issue though (or could be), but not server resources.

Remember, that when hosted with Hosting Unlimited we had massive downtimes....

Though hosting is something we need to look at, and we had decided on a new host, but have heard some rumours of problems, so decided against moving straight away until those problems resolved...

As Hotel21 says, this has been mentioned before but i am prepared to stand up and be counted as one who is prepared to pay my way on this, and if that ultimatly leads to a trade card, thats a bonus.

Guys, relax. :)

We have enough funds from a few things (sales of dvds have gone well) to cover the hosting costs for the next year, once Jaime is happy with a potential host (I leave the choice to him as he knows better than I ever will!) :)

But, if you want to send even more money (we'll just put it towards stickers or something) then the paypal address is laidback_66@hotmail.com  :)

I would just add that the problem we have had over last couple of days would have happened wherever hosted. We just need to properly identify cause...
