Exhaust (both sides)??
« on: 13 September 2012, 22:57:28 »

As said in a previous post I'm needing a new exhaust soon. I've seen some pics showing a tail pipe on both sides and I'm wondering how big a job this is. I presume its not just a straightforward task but any info would be greatly appreciated as I think it looks really good!

Go Eternal for new exhaust, around £120 cat back. You will have two centre sections going into a rear back box.

Worth soaking the exhaust bolts in plusgas, as unless you are lucky, some will shear.

Back boxes for 3.0/2.5 from Eternal are identical, its just 3.0 have twin exit pipes.

Sorry tunnie I didn't make 1st post clear enough. I'm talking about back box at either side of the car, passenger as normal and drivers side as well. I've seen it on some omega's and it looks ace was just wondering how much work would be involved??

Ah sorry  :-[

You mean like this?

Thats using Irmscher back bumper (which looks bit different on that Yanke one), which is designed for 2 exits. The pipe goes around between the fuel tank & bumper, it has a heat shield as its a hot exhaust going next to a fuel tank.

I cant open that link but I think you've got the idea, any ideas on how I'd go about this or where to start looking. Would love an irmscher bumper but if I cant get/afford one then I'll modify the original.

Was just an image, this should work?

That kit is very uncommon, back box even more so! Quite a few here have been hunting for the kit for years, often its cheaper to buy the car with it already attached  ;)

Trouble is with the standard bumpers, twin side exit clearly looks like a bodge job

The bumper cut out is not that difficult to replicate on the right side if done properly. Properly being the operative word. Problem is that most outfits hack bits of the bumper and bodge an exhaust in there. Done with care and patience, it shouldn't look too bad. Saying that, I have yet to see one done properly.
