Did anyone own one of these , still a lovely looking car imo ... cant remember what sort of engine they had in them , cant be 4.9 or can it  :-\

yep had 2 of them..think was a 2.3 engine..had a automatic and a 4 speed with a overdrive switch on top of stick..vx4/90

Yep,2.3 slant four.Iirc the auto should have been 3 speed with o/d ?  :-\

That one doesnt have rust holes all over it so Im assuming its less than six months old. ;) ;D

The 4/90 actually stood for  4 cylinder 90 BHP .

Nope. Initially the FB variant was fitted with a 1508cc lump giving 71 BHP then in late `63 a 1598cc giving out 85 BHP ;)

That explains the performance ..Engine bay you could climb in to do work.

I had one of the later ones, the gear box gear selection was interesting. 1st gear was left and back

It must have been 90 MPH , there certainly was a marketing correlation between the model identification  numbers and spec or characteristics of the car .
