knocking rattle

Ive just changed the front droplinks but still got,a,sort of knocking hollow rattle from the front its only,noticable of rough surfaces its fine on potholes and motorways etc just when u,say,run over cats eyes or painted parts of the,road any ideas?

Could be a.r.b. bushes or maybe snapped spring (check the lower cup for broken piece of spring rattling about)...

could the rattle be something else like a guard on your exhaust?

its definatly a bush ive heard the noise before on a vectra when the rose bushes are knackered. and it doesnt do it all the time.  >:(

Changed the rol bar d bushes and links and its still there but I think I found it. If I aplly the brakes while driving it goes. The brakes clunk in reverse and theres movement in both calipers any ideas why the pads look nearly new

Could be anything from rearward wb bush to loose pads(incorrectly fitted, bent or broken rattle spring?)

There will be caliper play. There has to be.

I cured it it was the front pads rattling in the caliper fitted new and all ok now although the pads I took out looked new

Could be they were cheap, poor quality pattern pads ;)
