Any ideas on dealng with musty smell from aircon?

A mates Audi had it bad. Those cans only work for a week or 2, then it slowly returns.

He sold the car in the end

I used the Comma Air Con Cleaner stuff, thought id give it a try as it was on offer when i visited Trago mills a while back, used it as directed and it lasted quite a while, but then the smell started coming back, but not half as bad before

My local Vx dealer, WJ King did an aircon recharge, pollen filter change and an aircon debug. Got rid of the musty smell and a month later it is still smelling nice and fresh. All for £45 inc vat.
