Replaced the crank sensor today, thanks.
Kinda cheated a bit from the guide though.
Took off the plastic ecotec breather on top of the plenum as well as the vacuum hose on the right side and pulled them and the multiram pipes carefully to the side. That gave enough room for even my sausage finger hands to get to the connector.
I took the cover off the cable tray then released the sensor cable back and routed it back out the main inlet to the cable tray, up and arouns the oil filler neck, then out towards where it is in your recommended position.
Routed the new cable almost straight down behind the brake pipes into the ABS block and under the main loom where it goes through the bulkhead atop the chassis leg.
It gives pretty much the correct angle for the sensor going into the block at the oil filter.
Was kinda in a rush to be ahead of the weather but will take pics later and post them up, perhaps even a modified 'howtoo' if there is a need.
