Child seat

My little girl's getting too big for her first car seat (pram modular thingy) anyone recomend a seat or got any advice for fitting in miggy?
what is isofix and will it fit my beast?

Yes, the 'First Class Si'  Britax child seat, that I believe is still available from Halfords, is a great unit, being simply installed by using your existing rear seat belts (don't recommend the front seat due to the airbag!).  This seat is ideal for a child between birth (backward facing)to around 4 years of age (forward facing).

The one I bought 4 years ago is still in regular use.

I have  the same one for my son and he loves it very safe and with arerest and cup holders . You can also remove the back as they get older so there is just the base so can be used up to 11 years i think :y :y

My 3 year old has got a Maxi Cosi Priori SPS, while 5 year old sits in Maxi Cosi Rodi XP . Am very happy with both and you can get a seat cover for any of them, so when they mess it, you just remove a simple towel-like cover, rather than all the material.

your 97 omega wont have isofix sistem, so you ll need to tie the seat in place with seatbelt. maxi cosi priori (for children from 9 to 18kg) fits very well in omega. whichever you go for, make sure you try if it fits properly in the car.

and me again  :) another advice: plan to buy one seat from now till she is 4 (appx 18kg) and another one from then till 11-12 (which has extendable and removable back), so in total 3 seats from newborn till she is grown out of all of them

Agreed, this should ensure the correct seat for age and weight of the child. :) :) :)

yeah that's the plan, she's only 10 months old but 25lb+ already and tall like me (6'3") (me not her ;D) she's too long for her infant carrier so going to step up to forward facing for a few years then finaly a high back booster when she's 40lb / 4 years. (how much do babies cost :o)

shame isofix is to modern for my old miggy i'm not overly confident in seatbelt fixing :-/

A tip for fitting you child seat, put it in and then put you knee in the seat, use your full weight to pushe the seatinto the car seat and fix the seatbelt. do his and it will not move. I was tought by the local council road safety team.  ;D ;D ;D

and when she is 18 she will want you to buy her a drivers seat ( and the matching car to go around it, of course) :)

well, my experience is only with maxi cosi. you buckle it, then press as hard as you can onto it and tighten the seatbelt before closing the seatbelt in the red thingi at the back of the seat. best use a cloth between leader seats of the car and baby seat. if you press hard enough, the seat should not have any play. from time to time just make sure its still tight. wouldnt think there is that much difference with or without isofix. problem with seatbelts is that people dont fit those seats properly and leave them too loose

She seems to think if she looks at you in a certain way and blinks her eyes etc sh will get what she wants.
Does not quite work, not everytime anyway. she now uses pretty pretty pretty please, with a cherry on the top. ;D ;D ;D
