Is it possible to fit a Rover sterling 1995 2.7 auto petrol engine (made by Honda) into a face lift Opel Omega 2.2 petrol auto and if so would it be necessary to swap the auto box as well? The reason I ask is that the Honda engine is perfectly good and the one in the Omega has died but the body work is in very good order.

Would it not be easier to source an engine that was fitted from factory?

Nothings imposible but there would be a hell of alot of work involved.
It would be easier to replace your engine with another 2.2

I believe it still holds the record of taking me to the most daft speed achieved on a public highway when an incredibly stupid hire car company decided to give a 23 year old me the boss' car instead of telling me to eff off, and that they haven't got any more 1.6 Escorts available.

But that aside, it's sh1te.

for the hassle might as well put omega v6 in or another 2.2 not only hard doing engines but on modern cars you got lots of electrickery!! I know Rover you on about is front wheel drive. Put a v8 in my rover p6-would have been easier to buy one!!
