Quick question about the CID
« on: 02 October 2012, 20:44:06 »

I was just wondering if the CID sat nav displays the map as driving without having to input a destination or does it only come on when routing?

Cheers in advance?  :y

Great, I also just read that the standard controls on the wiper stalk don't work with the 2013 and CID? Is that correct? Sounds a bit odd!

Eh?

I guess by that response its no right and the standard computer buttons on the wiper stalk operate the usual functions on the CID, I may have mis-read what it ment.

This is the a snippet from the final part from the site I was reading.

"Then it’s a case of connecting a Sat Nav Aerial, re-assembling everything, having your local Vauxhall dealer Tech2 the screen and head unit to each other. The wiper stalk is also different, in that the three buttons that were used for the Check Control/Computer are no longer needed. It'll work with the old one, but for completeness I fitted the correct one from an Elite which also added Variable Intermittent Wipers."

No, wiper stalk has no buttons for CID. And if it has rain sensing wipers, no buttons or wheel either.

All ncdc functions are by steering wheel controls or the head unit itself. :)

Ok so If I change to a NCDC2013 and CID from a CCR2006 and MID. My wiper stalk buttons for cycling the display and resetting the trips, mpg etc.. won't work anymore?

How are those things operated? using the stereo its self seem odd as you have to look down to do it. Its nice being able to operate various things with the wiper stalk etc..

All functions are via steering wheel buttons. :)

Pretty much all the items on the MID appear on one screen on the CID. Stopwatch function missing.

That explains allot, cheers. Do you think I will have any problems with loom and rgb connectors? Mine is a early 2002 2.6 MV6. Fingers crossed its a simple swap out..

You will need to make the loom. Pretty easy, I always use a TM loom to do the modifications on.

Its coming out of an MV6 of the same age as mine, I would of thought the loom would be the same? I am aware I am probably missing something here  ???

If it was factory fitted, the car would have a modified loom. If it wasn't, it'll either have a butchered loom, or if you're really lucky, some kind of adapter.
