Have a look at your pads. The un-worn lip on a disc will tend to trigger the low pad warning quite early.  :y

My brake pad warning came up last sunday and i only did 60 miles before i had both front discs, pads and sensor changed yesterday (wednesday ) A local garage workshop next to my firm changed them while i was at work and charged me £150. When i picked my car up after work they showed me the old discs and pads. I reckon they were the original discs as they were well worn and the pads were well furbar'd.
