My attitude to tailgaters is the closer they get the slower I go, they eventually get the message though it takes some of them a little while longer, the seriously hate it when there is a long line of cars coming from the opposite direction so they are unable to overtake. 

Thats exactly what i do, gets right on their t**s

i do that and stick to the speed limit as i am in a van,which means i should do 30 in a 40 limit

Ditto the closer they get the slower I go and if there is a car in front of me the bigger the braking distance I leave to them. 

Then when it get to a higher speed limit, I accelerate quickly to that. If I'm on my motorbike, as I approach speed limit change I change down a few gears, just so they get the message, when they catch up where I'm doing the speed limit.

the funny thing about tailgaters, when they pass you if you actually do it to them they go bloody mental, which normally gets me a bollocking from wifey if she is in the car/vam
