Budget tyre recommendations
« on: 10 October 2012, 23:53:30 »

Hello all, can anyone recommend decent budget tyres for the front of my elite please? I only do 6k a year in it, rather sedately at that! Ideally I'd want a quiet one although beggars can't be choosers!

Are Accelera Alphas any good, or nankang

Thanks peeps

Used Acceleras on both Elites (saloon & Estate) - no issues  :y

If I had to go budget, probably go with Alphas, going by comments here.

You've driven on Alpha's ;)

They are a pretty good tyre and quite capable... Certainly as capable as the wallowy Elite Suspension :y

Mind you, a lot of places class them as a mid-range tyre now ::)

Iirc mine are branded Jinyu. Best avoided, unless you get them free like I did.Its rude not to then. ;D
Tbh,they werent too bad at first, but now they are wearing down a bit they have a mind of their own, although I suspect the wishbone bushes are shagged too which wont help. It makes life interesting though. The need to concentrate helps prevent me falling asleep on the way home from nightshifts. ;D
