Hello Everyone,

Okay so due to my heavy handedness I think I've broken my head light. whilst trying to put a bulb in the silver insides have come loose is it fixable or am I going to the bank manger to find me an extortionate amount of money for a new one?

Use hairdryer or heat gun to soften the black goo which holds the lense in place.Then remove the lense and have a look at the damage.Possibly an adjuster broken or possibly one of the mountings has popped out of its socket.New aluminium adjusters are available for around £12 if you have a broken one.
If there is damage other than an adjuster,a replacement headlight might be the easiest option.Depends what you find when you remove the lense tbh.

Okay great thank you, fingers crossed its just the adjuster then will take it apart tomorrow assuming its not raining to hard

Should have said - you need to remove the headlight from the car first. May be just a matter of popping a mount back into its socket if your lucky.

  so first job before I get home dismantle car  I think I've seen somewhere in the maintenance guides about taking it apart i will have a quick look

Only three bolts,and a few wiring plugs at the back of the unit to remove.Shouldnt take more than ten minutes.Two bolts obvious when you open the bonnet,third is hidden underneath the bumper.Easiest way I find is to pop the trim between headlight and bumper of,you should be able to see it then.
If you have HID lights leave it for a while after switching them off (an hour maybe ?) before removing them as there is high voltage present in the ballast pack.
Probably little risk involved removing the whole light unit,but better safe than sorry.

Okay so I got the headlight apart and the adjuster was in about 5 bits so starting to think it wasn't all my doing (anything to help me sleep better  ) but my question is this I have a set of Xeon headlights in the garage are the adjusters the same can use one as a donor until I get the aluminium ones?

As far as Im aware - yes.Carefujl when removing them though.They are stupidly fragile.

Epic fail they were both broke any way oh well never mind I will just put the wonky one back together until the adjuster arrives

Try and fix it pointing down a bit so you dont dazzle everyone.
Have you contacted the guy who makes the adjusters? Iirc he can be a bit difficult to contact on here,but also sells them on ebay.

Yeah LD sent me the link if he doesn't reply tonight I will just buy them from his eBay in the morning, never mind I spose these things are sent to try us haha
