The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

It's just the arrogant bastards who think the rules don't apply to them who annoy me. But they transcend all demographics.

Finished work today at 12:00 & as soon as I'd entered the main road on the Ind Estate I pulled out behind a fossil doing twenty.
She indicated to turn right into a recycling plant, oh good I thought I don't have to follow her any more. WRONG, she cancelled the indicator & proceeded to carry on. I followed her for around another mile, still doing twenty & braking for no reason at except for the imaginary objects in her path >:( >:(
We entered a forty limit & she still did twenty, needless to say I overtook her at earliest opportunity. Yep she was old, didn't have a clue where she was or where she was going, but the doctor says it's ok for her drive after a five minute consultation (if that) >:( >:( >:( >:(

This is why I cycle to work & make as many excuses as I can NOT to drive :( :y

Bloody hell Pete, that's why I don't cycle. Too many lunatics and bad drivers like her on the road!

Fortunately I don't have to touch the roads much with the way I go :y

As you really hate driving Pete, I will happily give your Monaro the exercise it needs! When do you want me to pick it up?

I had to stop an elderly gent the other day. Reports coming in from concerned members of the public went - "He's drove into (Tescos) carpark the wrong way, nearly took a barrier & one of them silver bollards out, parked across 3 bays (dunno how he managed that) and appeared drunk"  :o :o :o

I was the other side of town so I whipped up there, (bout 10 mins with blues) to get an update "He's just got back into the car, drove off up the kerb & his front door wasn't shut!" I caught up with him just as he turned into a junction on the wrong side of the road!!!!  :o :o It took several attempts for me to stop him (lit up like a Christmas tree) and was sober as a judge when breathalysed.  ::) ::)

He was driving wait for it.............A 59 plate Golf GTI  ;D   But not anymore alas :( for him. 86 and never had an accident........

Having seen my own Grandfathers driving deteriorate terribly, and some of the rather bewildered driving around here between rush hours, I can't help but agree tbh.

Although the standard of driving rather than age specifically shouldn't be a decider. If the car in front was being driven predictably, we wouldn't notice the age of the driver at all. ...would we...? :-\

At 75 I guess it is going to happen to me sooner than the rest of you. I have one caution for all of you youngsters, you too, if you're lucky, will be elderly drivers one day, so think on. :y

Fact is, we as a family should have intervened long before, as he would then not knocked a guy off his push bike with nothing else around. He simply didn't see the cyclist.
