Bumper Clips
« on: 16 October 2012, 12:54:50 »

Just been under the car doing an oil change and I notice that all 3 of the clips that hold the bottom edge of the bumper to the front crossmember are missing !!!

Question is, before I go searching/asking/begging in sales section/ebay/anywhere else I can think of ....

Would/are the clips for the Irmscher bumper going to be the same as a standard bumper ??

EDIT : I guess it might be the spoiler rather than the bumper itself .... I'll try and get a photo later .. be easier !!

Slot is about 1/2 inch by 1 inch I guess .. not measured but can do if required .. :)

many thanks  :)

Nigel, when I fitted the Irmscher front bumper to my car, I used the standard clips.  They fitted fine and did the job, but I did notice that I had to push the bumper up with a fair bit of pressure to get it to meet the crossmember, which I never had to do with the standard bumper.

I suspect this is because the Irmscher bumper sits lower than the standard one.  I wonder if a combination of this, general vibration, and the occasional graze from a kerb or speed bump, may will work the clips loose...  :-\

They are standard Nige. As Twiglet says really.

...not sure why the irmscher bumper is such a stretch to meet the cross member....

I wonder if the tension helps to keep the bumper from sagging...? :-\

bresco.com is always worth a look for automotive clips and fasteners. Not necessarily cheap, but quick and easy.
