Stoner's back...
« on: 20 October 2012, 19:16:21 »

...oh how I missed him, grumpy bugger that he is. ;D

I'm trying to think, has there been a more aggressive, almost violent riding style, ever? I can't think if anyone that kills dead things better than Casey.

I don't give a rats arse if you like him personally. I'm not interested in anything he or any other rider says! It's what they DO that important in racing.

And this guy does! He just does. It's undeniable. :)

Heheee, all the riders come round in slow mo sliding the rear out of a corner, love it.

Stoners turn, sliding way earlier than anyone else, gives it another gear, slides again, hooks up into a wheely, things shaking its head and the backs wiggling around.

Nutter. ;D

Stoners first season in the big class[2006 I believe]aboard a "2nd string"Honda he spent as much time in a gravel trap as he did on it,but even so his talent showed. Now with 3 races left[including tomorrows]will he try to help Pedrosa to win the title?Obviously as he is retiring at the end of the season Honda can't give him team orders and make them stick,Pedrosa says he won't ask Stoner to help, and Stoner says that a champion should be so on his own merit.I'm not Stoners biggest fan but I agree I shall miss his talent.Could make the Australian V8 supercar races more interesting though,as it seems that's what he's off to do when he's finished with the bikes!

No will he 'dangle berries' as like. Well, I'd be very suprised, if he does help Pedrosa.

His attitude is fairly appalling, but then since when was that a bad thing for a biker? ;D

I wonder if he expects too much, and gets frustrated, maybe. Maybe that drives his aggression.
You can almost see him, shouting in his crash helmet

"..far**** COME OOOONAAA!"  ;D love it.  :y

Young Randy was great to watch. Don't believe he ever won the title though. :y

He's good, but Fast Freddie would have kicked his arse if they'd raced at the same time, as would Kenny Roberts senior. :y

Stoppage was fully justified.Half the field had crashed and the rain was getting heavier.Anyone on Lorenzos position would have done the same. The race may be restarted,it hasnt been decided yet afaik.
Stoner would definitely have had him in one more lap,for two reasons.Lorenzo is riding for the championship rather than race positions and the Honda is a far superior bike to anything else out there. It has been all season.Theres no other reason that Pedrosa could be running Lorenzo so close.Imo Lorenzo is the best rider out there by quite a margin (given that the GOAT is now an unknown quantity)and on a level playing field Pedrosa isnt capable of winning a title as long as he has a hole in his arse tbh.
Amazingly,Stoner declared yesterday that this years Honda is one of the worst bikes he has ever ridden  in his career. :o :o ;D ;D
I know he had severe chatter in practice for this race and has had a degree of it at other tracks, but its all relative. The bike still leaves everything else for dead (apart from a yamaha ridden by Lorenzo) and its not just because of the Stoner factor as Pedrosa has proved. So for him to say that really does beggar belief. ::)

Dovizioso has had a very good season on the Tech3 Yamaha with seven third place podiums. The best non-factory rider.

Cal Crutchlow has also done very well in qualifying having one second position and six third positions and has had a third place podium. His recent four DNFs have really hurt his points position and he will be really disappointed to have dropped out of the top six, but hopefully where he is very fast it will all come together for the final two races and next year. Lorenzo was like him (or worse) at this stage in his career by constantly binning it and hurting his limbs.

Tech3 as a non-factory team won't get the latest upgrades at the same time as Lorenzo and then Spies will have received them and they also don't have the same budget and resources, so I think the Tech3 team have had overall a very good season so far.

Dovi has had a great season and imo should have been given Spies ride for next year.
Crutchlow - Im afraid imo hes a bit out of his depth at this level.Might have been another Foggy type British legend if he made his career in superbikes, but MotoGp is another level altogether.
