Lancashire police have not disputed in any way the account given by the blind man. They have simply offered a profuse apology for the suffering they have caused him.
With the upcoming elections, the old bill are taking one for the team, so as not to upset the media
But who knows. I suspect the poor plod did what he thought was the right thing at the time, rather than think what a blast it would be to zap a blind man. I base my suspicions on the fact there are no suspensions (AFAIK)
The complete opposite is true actually. They are angry beyond words about the upcoming elections and havent made any attempt to disguise the fact. They even sent (the utterly moronic) Ian Blair to TV studios yesterday to advise people not to vote,in order to try to strangle the whole prcoess before its even born.

Theres a cosy little cartel which runs policing in the U.K. these days and this is an attempt to break it up.Those on that particular carriage of the gravy train are not at all happy, and are using dirty desperate tricks to try to undermine it.
I would like to know who was taking what for the team when Jean Charles de Menezes was executed in cold blood on a tube train full of commuters.
He was held down by 6 (iirc) officers, while another pumped 11 (iirc) bullets into his head at intervals of approx. three seconds.
Immediately afterwards there was a statement issued which hardly contained a word which wasnt bare faced lies.
He wasnt challenged,he didnt run,he didnt leap barriers,he wasnt wearing a thick puffer jacket in warm weather, he did nothing suspicious at all. He actually went to the officers when they boarded the train and asked them what the problem was.
Apparently the cctv in the staion wasnt working, which was a shame.
They cocked up badly, then lied through their teeth to cover up what they had done.It smacked of the Stazi to me,and if the changes afoot can do anything to break up that type of culture, then bring it on imo.
