A while back, someone on here posted some pics of their AR25 stripped down, showing the location of the 2/3 solenoid.

Anyone remember who it was? Mine's playing up and I may get it changed before winter sets in. The pics would be useful to show a mechanic if he's unfamiliar with the auto box.

Just got the quote for changing the 2/3 solenoid through: £450 +vat

True, Albitz, but it's finding one in this neck of the woods that is the problem. They all seem to bit oop North or way West.

James v6 tends to travel around a bit. First thing I would do is try to source a known good used solenoid. New from Vx is probably a small fortune.
Tbh,you could buy a good gearbox for no more than £100 if you cant find a solenoid.Then have the choice of taking the solenoid out of it or just fit the whole box.
It might be worth posting a wanted ad for a solenoid as a first step ?
