Front Disc Fitting - Clarification
« on: 01 November 2012, 11:35:32 »

I have read the guide but just need something clearing up please.

When refitting the caliper mounting bracket do you reuse the 18mm bolts, even though they have been angle tightened?

So you use threadlock after angle tightening, or do you not angle tighten, just torque to 95Nm and threadlock?

I thought angle tightening stretched the bolt permenently, so how many time can you do this before the bolts snap?

threadlock on the bolts, tighten to 95nm then angle tighten 30 degrees, i don't think the bolts are tightened to yield so are ok to re use

Yes, bolts that are tightened to the point of yield (e.g. head bolts which are angle tightened to the order of 270+ degrees) need replacing but the caliper bolts are not tightened to a yield point so no issues.
