As read in this months Practical Classics magazine,a couple of items rehashing old ideas.Firstly the government is considering[again]road pricing.Due to "falling revenues"from the road fund licence[now there's a misnomer!]they are considering doing away with it to introduce  this"new"idea. If they go ahead you can bet we'll all end up paying more than at present!Second thing,Reault are doing their own"scrappage"scheme and offering £3,000 off for your old banger.Other manufacturers are wanting the government scheme re-introduced to help them out.Renault I think are fairly well placed to run this scheme as they are[or were the last I heard]owned by the French government.

Thats all well and good but £3000 off say a car thats £16000 leaving a balance of £13000 was never going to appeal to the likes of joe bloggs that keeps his old banger on the road on a shoestring.  All good if your loaded with money , just another scheme for the well off imo  ::)

yes and as most people at the moment are living on shoestring i mean if you had the cash to spend £1000's on a new car  you wouldnt be driving and old banger regardless of a scrapage scheme :y

In all honesty I won't buy anything french if I can help it,but certainly not a car!I'll certainly never own a new car of any make,it scared me silly to pay just over a grand for my Jag and that's the most I've ever paid for a car.
