I have a PFL Elite headlamp I was hoping to swap for my damaged MFL CDX one. I can swap or remove most of the different bits, but the Elite sidelamp large black plastic mount is reluctant to come out of the headlamp moulding, although it looks as though it should. I can't use the Elite s/l mount as the plug connections are different. Can anyone enlighten me, or have I bought a pup, and they are not interchangeable?

If you ever pass Kevin Wood's way, if he hasn't binned them, he has a set of my MFL projectors, which you are welcome to. Might need a clean though, and defo need adjusters

Well the one I have has definitely got a different side light housing, with a different plug connector, it looks as though the whole s/l housing should detach from the main moulding, but does not wish to do so. It also has the ballast pack underneath, but that does come off.

Possible to swap levelling motors over, but not sure if you can pop a halogen bulb in it.

Hmmm, wonder if its from a FL, they are a different shape in that area.

I can't shed any light on your problem but I do have 2 sets of facelift xenon headlights and one set of pre facelift halogen lights.
If it were me though I would be tempted to snip the 2 wires going to the s/l bulbs...

If it were me though I would be tempted to snip the 2 wires going to the s/l bulbs...

Tempting to do something like this, but I love my old TD and like to try to keep it original. Pathetic I know.

Just checked and it is definitely off an MFL Elite, so I am surprised it is so different to my MFL CDX lamp.

Only MV6 and Elite came with MFL HIDs.

There lies the problem. MFL Elite is HID. Its a different headlamp to your MFL CDX.

See if Kevin still has my old ones
