Service alert on Phaeton
« on: 08 November 2012, 00:35:06 »

Service alert came on before I was about to start journey back from Manchester saying service due in 200 miles or 114 days! It is 210 miles back to my place. :-[

At 3mph, and 10 hrs a day, you could push it home, arriving on Wednesday next week :y

You should then still have 98 days until the service is due ::)... :P

Booked in for tomorrow then I take it :-\

I dont think even a body builder can manage to push the Phaeton at that speed unless downhill ;D

I doubt even an average of 0.5 mph can be achieved ;D :y :y

ps: nowadays I'm walking on machine as outside is rainy.. even 5 kms/hr is not slow let alone with a monster car..

That's assuming you could convince it to release the electronic handbrake, etc.. in the first place. Does it have a "push" mode you can put it in? ;D

hmmm need to educate you lot re Phaeton. Firstly it does not have electronic brake - footbrake type with dash release handle.Secondly it has 2 batteries. It is an absolute dream to drive . It does weigh 2.5 tonnes though I think.

Not too bad - 2 years servicing pack with MOT and some bits is £530 which is one major service and one intermediate.

Actually service light first came on on Saturday with a service due in 600 miles alert but I have done 700 miles since then.

What percentage are you allowed to exceed the interval by in order to still qualify for the prepaid service and warranty  :-\

I think the situation is that it should be serviced reasonably promptly after the date per computer to keep the warranty aspect from challenge. They told me 1000 miles or 1 month basically.

Tyres have done 27000 and looking ok but when I need to change will be painful.

Presumably, being 4wd, that's all of them :-\ Was certainly the case with the XR4x4...

I meant all four tyres needing changing at the same time because it's 4wd ::) not doing so potentially tying the transfer box in a knot as it tries to deal with the variation in rolling radii front and rear :-\
