Antibiotics
« on: 16 November 2012, 12:30:18 »

Just heard that patients are being told by the authorties 'not to request antibiotics'. ???

Maybe its just the surgery I attend, but you do not get to ask for antibiotics, its the doctor who decides.
And, I will say, when he does give them out (to me, at least), he always explains about them. He will always use antibiotics as the second approach, if the situation warrants it. Maybe we have a good doctor :y
Surely, its the doctors that need this informatiom, not patients, if they are giving them out willy nilly :)

This problem was identified decades ago (in my memory back in the 1980's) by scientists then warning of nature becoming resistant to ALL (including cleaning products) anti-bacterial products.

Nature will always adapt, as it is a fact of life that we as humans, like all other forms of life on Earth, have to be controlled in terms of our life expectancy and overall population.

Antibiotics ONLY work by killing microorganisms ... bacteria and fungii.

They do NOT work against virii

It would appear many folks are going to Doctors demanding antibiotics for colds/flu etc.. and some Doctors give in for peace, even though they won't work.

Is it the doctors fault for "giving in" or the patients fault for making "demands" ... ?????

I'd say firmly the doctors - you can't expect the mouth breathers to know what medicine does what, after all; that's what the GP is being paid for...

my recommendation is dont kiss or handshake doctors or nurses and hospital staff.. (those who married with them will soon develop similiar resistance with them though !)

they carry the strongest bacteria, organism and whatever else could be carried that has the utmost resistence to any type of antibiotics .. they are the transporters of hospital infection  :-\

My doctor does'nt give out antibiotics like sweeties, even if you are truly in need of them and neither does she recommend XRays as she considers them to be dangerous..thankfully she's retiring in a few months time ::)
