« on: 18 November 2012, 19:46:20 »

I want to do the garage floor. I want to use PVC tiles. Has anybody done this? What should I be looking to buy? and from where? I need to cover 33 square meters so cost is a factor

I have a horrible feeling that PVC "reacts" to petroleum substances by "melting" ???  so fuel/oil spills might be messy ??  I might be wrong however with modern PVC materials ..:(

The tiles I've looked at are oil/chemical resistant. Won't be falling for that

The tiles may be oil/petrol resistant but you can bet the adhesive wont be! In my experience they will lift and curl very shortly after being exposed to a spill  :(

Resistant will still disintegrate given enough time.

Although mines carpeted. Which means no spilages anyway.

Great thanks for the help. No adhesive. No they don't curl. Won't be constantly soaked in oil as I'll wipe it up. So can we get back to where to get them from? Preferably a company somebody has used? Don't want the thread getting bogged down just about oil contamination. I'd like to do it for under 300

£300 or thereabouts for 33 sq.m isn`t viable for quality flooring. What about these if you don`t mind a bit of work with a mallet

http://www.costco.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/cos_11,cos_11.8,cos_11.8.1/565749

As it's a roll like lino, you havn't got so many joints to worry about and at £8.25 per SqM its affordable!  :y

Aye saw those. Don't want the headache really. I've found a couple of places which are coming in around 250 but I can't say what the quality is like. Most places are coming in around 450.
