New Key needed
« on: 20 November 2012, 21:09:21 »

Hey Guys, have read lots of posts on keys and tech2 etc, am i correct then in summing up:
I buy a new horseshoe type blade with a transponder in it from ebay (105 on blade) get it cut, or get a blade from the stealers with my key pin, then i get a replacement three button fob with red light, they are all the same on saloon facelifts?, then pm one of the admin lads for tech 2 expertise, and bring vehicle and car pass to them...?
I would rather have only one key than go to the stealers for it to be programmed, its the principle of paying them that much money.

Not all fobs are the same - it has to be the precise one for your car

My neighbour needed a new key for his VW Golf.  I'm not sure where he got the blade bit from, but he got the electronic fob secondhand from ebay and found a mobile key programmer guy to come round and reset it to his car.  It was less than half the price of getting it done at the VW dealers and this guy could do all makes of cars.
