Help please 2.2 Dti Aux heater

Hi is there a way of checking the Aux heater thats mounted under the srivers front wing

Just been out to car -3c started fine went round the block and came back last year if i did this when i got back i could hear the aux heater running but now i dont hear it at all there must be some way of testing the heater to see if its working

I would think,just put 12v to it and it should work.

thats kind of what i was hoping for but dont want to jut try it in case i blow the circuit or something

Hope you  have it sorted by now, but  FYI mine would only start up if the heater/ air con was asking for heat. If they were not on, it would not fire up at all. Could be worth a try?

its a surprisingly complex piece of kit - a minature version of a central-heating boiler. Has various safety features built in which need servicing
