Just received my Xmas bonus from the Government as an OAP - looking for some advice on how to spend it.  I was gobsmacked to say the least in seeing my bank balance increase by the princly sum of £10 - ffs what shall I spend it on?

£10.00  is not the winter fuel allowance Lizzie..........

The retirement age for men is not 60 afaik so the £10 cannot be an O.A.P. "freebie" 
If you are on other 'Benefits' then there is a £10 Christmas Bonus, so perhaps this is what you've been sent dbug
Also I believe the winter Fuel Allowance for O.A.P's  is between £100 and £300 depending on age and certain other benefit entitlements.

Just retired @ 66½ years young - the £10 is the OAP Christmas Bonus for anyone receiving the state pension - I'm not on "Benefits" and never have been.
The winter fuel allowance for my age is £200

It was a partial joke and observation Vamps

I know it is not directly for that, but to pay the energy bills you need everything the Government throws your way to pay for them. including the likes of that £10.  You also may not get any more now anyway the way things are going!
