im new to this site im wondering if anyone on here could help with omega codes p1700, p0650, p0340 its a 2001 2.2 auto
i have fitted a new camshaft sensor and checked wiring engine will not rev over 4000-4500 rpm
any help much appreciated

Unplug the MAF sensor and see if  the car behaves better. If it does it points to a faulty MAF. However, i've successfully cleaned mine on a number of occassions now by removing the MAF, taking off the plastic 'Portcullis' end and carefully using a soft bristled artists paint brush dipped in Isopropylene Alcohol, cleaning the sensor wire then refitting. It is certainly worth a try before spending your hard earned!

Hi my 2.2 did that sort of thing...would not rev and when driving under load sounded like a machine gun...turned out to be the lamda sensor..the first one nearest the manifold...changed that and all was fine.

I would get the codes read again ... i bet the P0340 is still there .
Was it a genuine cam sensor ?

thanks for the help guys, sensor wasnt genuine was after market one code p0340 still remains!!
unplugged maf an tryed car still wont rev over 4000-4.500 rpm,
think it will have to be a genuine 1 before i go any further

Have Boggys mig at moment got same problem but at3000rpm-got Genuine cam sensor-same

the 4.5k hard rev limit is cam sensor, so a different issue

Symes, my cam sensor was from the headington auto parts, not vauxhall, And I;m sorry but I will not be spending more money and getting a vauxhall cam sensor, if its not up to the job, ill break the car, its clearly not worth having as all other cars I have had have taken aftermarket parts and they have worked, if this is what omegas are like then its my last

and omega,s will be fine with some after market parts.....but not a cam sensor must be vx
