Symes, my cam sensor was from the headington auto parts, not vauxhall, And I;m sorry but I will not be spending more money and getting a vauxhall cam sensor, if its not up to the job, ill break the car, its clearly not worth having as all other cars I have had have taken aftermarket parts and they have worked, if this is what omegas are like then its my last
Hardly a fault with the car if some pattern parts are substandard  ???

Although, given your symptoms, I don't think there is a cam sensor fault at this stage

I just don't understand this fault I have, it ran fine after the head was done, its just gotten worse over time, the air leak was a seal on the injector which was replaced with Vauxhall parts but although it fixed the leak, its amplified the bogging down etc? Symes done the cam timing and now it wont rev over 3000rpm? I don't have alot of money with Christmas to keep buying parts on a whim, if I sold it for spares or repair, I could get a cheap diesel as i just need to get to and from work, luckily I have the neighbors car for the short while into January, shes a learner so not using it through the week. Were you going to pop into symes with a tech 2? He mentioned you, I work odd hours so that's Why Symes has the car at the moment

That your main problem .... "whims" .. it needs PROPER, logical diagnosis.. not "lets try changing this today" ....

IMHO

all parts were based on fault codes, not a tech 2, cant remember what it was now, TBH I don't really care for the car now, Maybe if it gets fixed my interest in it may grow but for now, I have no expectations other than bad news, sad as it may be, I'm a little disheartened I had plans to make it a nice motor even though its already a tidy car already

I needed a cam (or was it crank?) sensor for my Saab recently, a genuine Bosch item was sourced from my local Motor Factors for around fifty squid, you don't have to pay dealer prices for dealer parts all of the time...

Fault codes aren't the entire story. Sadly many garages believe they are.

We'll get her on the Tech2, just not sure when I can get over  :-[

Being so close to christmas, its probably gonna have to wait until the new year, though thinking about it, its far enough away from home that I could call the RAC out to come have a look, nothing to lose I guess

RobG has just answered your question stevo1985 ???

P0340   Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit No Signal
P0340   Camshaft Sensor Incorrect Signal

Your original GM sensor is faulty, as was the Pattern part you bought! :(

No.

The symptoms described are classic symptoms of a blocked fuel tank breather. Next time it happens try loosening the petrol filler cap and see if it sucks a load of air in.
