Lorry with furniture on board caught fire,and the lorry driver bravely drove the lorry away from a narrow street into a wider one so that surrounding properties were saved.

The name of the narrow street where the lorry caught fire?  Pudding Lane!!

clue is in the title ...the great fire of london...it didnt start in the town of maidstone and a couple of  things the report omits is both fire and police tore the driver off a strip for being (their words not mine )'foolish' and also this happened over a week ago

Sorry TAM, I do not understand what you are trying to say.

The lorry fire was in the centre of Maidstone, and it just so happens it was in Pudding Lane, the same lane name that the Great Fire of London started in.  I didn't suggest anything else as the video truly explained.

Also Meridian News where reporting this as an event that had very recently happened, within their main news reporting, and stating how everyone thought the driver was a hero!

I wish I could find confirmation of the driver being torn off a strip.

All I can find is that the driver has been hailed a hero.  One example:

the only reson i KNOW his actions were to say the least 'foolish' is i know the fire officer that attended and how he is a hero is beyond me???...moving a burning vehicle fanning fire with oxygen thus causing fire to be bigger...he certainly is something.... a lunatic...needs locking up and kept away from anyone else he could set alight...


well this reported last week on kent on line so a little behind the times meridian....slow news day prehaps?
