Ime the only way to stop the rattle long term is to bend the metal rod the pin sits on, to take out the play.
Even replacing the felt Sorrounding the pin in the door card orifice doesn't last long. Ask TB.
So if I take a pair of pump pliers and bend it slightly, it should cure it without having to take the doorcard off?
Hooligan!
But yes, extreme care though. Safe option is to remove the door card although there are risks to that too, with plastic top strip coming adrift as said above.
I'd suggest opening the window fully, and bend the lock pin outboard/towards the glass BY HAND first while stood outside the car, and see how you go. That way scratching or snapping the pin is less likely than with pliers. Use pliers with a rag only if more leverage is needed.
You only need enough to stop the rattle when locked and unlocked. Don't want to add any resistance for the door lock motors to have to overcome.
NOTE I'VE ONLY DONE ONE OF MINE BY BENDING VIA THE PIN. You'll be trying this at your own risk to an extent, damage COULD result. I don't know for sure.
