Do new TVs come with 14:9 ratio?
« on: 06 December 2012, 19:50:26 »

Hi guys,

As above, wanting a new TV but i have always thought the 16:9 ratio looks totally out of proportion even on the wife's relatively modern TV.

I have always preferred viewing on 14:9 but hate the black lines....

can you buy a tv with specifically this aspect ratio without the black lines at the side?

cheers guys

No

Many sets don't even have a 14:9 setting now, as virtually all broadcasts are 16:9 anyway now

If the broadcast is in 16.9 and the tv is set to same, there should be no distortion at all.

Check settings on the digi nix and tv match.
