Hi chaps

Today i got really scared for my life when driving my dads omega ( Omega B 1995 2.0 8v c20ne manual estate). I haven't drivven it for 2-3 weeks and my oh my in what state some things are.

One thing that is not topic and will be accessed in my pit in the garage is cars back being too wobbly. Shocks are good, but it goes wherever it wants. We had out share of omegas and I do know its way too wobbly even for omega.

Main topic is: damned headlight. They all gone milky and when even on high beam feeling is like 2 fireflies in the jar. A mate of mine would polish the glass ( plastic actually) for me, but one idea crossed my mind.
Before I ask - please sorry for being an idiot with memory of a chicken  - I have broken for spares FL omega B a few years ago and I have nice headlight with lenses from a FL omega. Problem is : they are stored in my mates garage 35 miles away.

Is it possible to fit a headlight on pre-FL omega from FL omega??

The headlight shapes are different between PFL and FL, around the lower corner nearest the grill.  It *may* fit, but may look odd.

Rear suspension - check springs (prone to breaking the last coil) and subframe bushes.

About suspension - bushes are all new - were done 200 miles ago, but apparently they forgot to do the alignment. I think it might cure the problem as it is way out. simple string measure showed how much out it is.

Headlights - over this weekend mate has polished them good - almost as new. Tomorrow getting a set of better bulbs as these are bad.

There is a second problem that may have happened to your headlights, which won't be helped by polishing the plastic.

If you look from various angles into the headlight unit (in daylight, from the outside) you will be able to see the silvering - the metallic coating on the back surface - which is what reflects the bulb's light forward in the correct pattern. 

If this silvering has started to peel away from the plastic, not only will the amount of light shining forwards be reduced, but the beam pattern will be very badly affected.  I don't believe it's at all easy to fix this, if it has degraded in this way.

This happened on our '95 car, much worse on the kerb side than the other for some reason. The area immediately surrounding the bulb position had really lost a lot of the silvering, I guess due to heat.  A good secondhand replacement made a huge difference to night driving.

Which tyres do you have on the back? My Mig came with some random ditchfinders all-around and was as jittery as break, fine once they were changed.
