Mormons
« on: 07 December 2012, 18:14:34 »

Walking home this evening,it's been a long hard day at work,it's cold,it's dark and it's trying to rain, and a pair of Mormons tried stopping me in the street to talk religion.Ideclined their offer, told them I wasn't interested and bade them farewell.Actually I encapsulated this information in but two words, the first of which begins with the letter F and the second is off.

How did you know they were Mormons and not Jehovahs Witnesses?

Where did our manners go?

All that needs to be said is "sorry, not interested thank you", or "I am a Catholic" which I find does the job.

Why be so rude and objectionable?  There is just no need for it!

We wonder why the young are now so impolite!  If so called adults act like this, no wonder we are all in trouble! >:( >:( >:(

...to some, to be imposed up on in such a way, is even ruder and insulting than any profanity. But you raise a valid point. :y

I'm with Lizzie on this one, but I'd go further and say I'm not impressed or amused by this 'story'.  ::)

tis annoying when they knock on your door and they really are thick skinned so i dont think opps off will annoy them and tbh anything you say wont annoy a witness,i think the best way is pure and simple not interested and shut the door.they did invade your time and you never asked for it and sometimes you do feel so pissed off with people trying to ask you stuff and sell you stuff that you can just blow so blow the gits(they will deffo be used to it  ;D )

It used to make my Grandfather's day when the Jehovas came calling. He was in his late 90's but could still argue the finer points of theology!!  :)

I worked with a Mormon chap, he was telling me the young lads get sent to a town they don't know, stay in really basic accomodation and knock on doors for months on end spreading the word of their faith. In an area like mine that takes some serious balls but they do it because of their faith, to have that much faith in something these days is admirable and, in my opinion, should be respected rather than abused.

If you don't want to partake you can ignore them, close the door or just politely decline but to tell them to f*** off is over the top.
