It used to make my Grandfather's day when the Jehovas came calling. He was in his late 90's but could still argue the finer points of theology!! 

I have one of there head church members living across the road from me.
Absolute lovely bloke.
Used to get on great with him and his missus until my missus left me to send out the christmas cards ............... 
You can guess what happened and just to make it worse, a few days into the new year he knocked on my door to explain why we didn't recieve a card of them.  I (as you do) invited him in for a cuppa (we was watching a dvd at the time)
Much to my horror and I can honestly say it was NOT deliberate we were watching "Life Of Brian" at the time.  He stormed out of the house and no amount of apoligys / explanations have made any difference 
Oh well, its one lot less to bang on our door

I worked with a Mormon chap, he was telling me the young lads get sent to a town they don't know, stay in really basic accomodation and knock on doors for months on end spreading the word of their faith. In an area like mine that takes some serious balls but they do it because of their faith, to have that much faith in something these days is admirable and, in my opinion, should be respected rather than abused.

If you don't want to partake you can ignore them, close the door or just politely decline but to tell them to f*** off is over the top.

I worked with a Mormon chap, he was telling me the young lads get sent to a town they don't know, stay in really basic accomodation and knock on doors for months on end spreading the word of their faith. In an area like mine that takes some serious balls but they do it because of their faith, to have that much faith in something these days is admirable and, in my opinion, should be respected rather than abused.

It used to be double glazing salesmen with me!  They always seemed to call when I was cooking a meal for the kids.  In addition our house already had new double glazing, so why they kept knocking I will never understand.  I, or my husband, used to explain politely, but succinctly, how we were not interested, but understanding it was someone trying to make a crust to feed a family!

I knew they were Mormons because they were wearing name tags/church identifications on their lapels.Jehovahs witnesses used to call here on a Sunday lunch time,and no matter how you told them no thanks they still came back.Solved that one by getting a blood donor sticker and put it in front room window,they've never knocked since!Mormons have never knocked on our door,they accost you in the street round here it seems.In my defence I'm not usually a rude person,they just copped the fallout of a long hard rough shift at work when they shoved their religion in my face.If I wanted religion I'm quite capable of finding a church or meeting house or whatever other name such places go under.

So, you weren't interested in what they had to say, yet you think others would be interested to hear a story about what you weren't interested to hear in the first place. 

As I was walking home this dark cold evening after a busy day at work, I was approached by Mormons.  I said to them 'No thank you, I'm not interested !'   

Hmmm...I guess it does need the swearing, otherwise it's not really much of a 'story'.
