No need for the extra 5ah as the cheapest there is more than good enough, the middle priced one is for a diesel and has a few more CCA capacity. On lead acids, deep discharge is not to bad IF they are charged back up quickly to avoid sulphation which hardens the longer its left ( they start to sulphate at about 90% capacity so be warned that any level of discharge will result in early failure)

........and Andy think of going to your car on a freezing cold morning and finding your battery is flat and defunct.  Is all the inconvenience worth £30 over 5 years? ::) ::) ::) :D :D ;)

I'd just jump in the 4x4 Merc instead  ::) ::)

Show off!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y

I didn't realise the Merc was a 4x4  :o :-[  Now that really is showing off........

I bought an Exide 71AH/680 CCA last week from Eurocarparts for £69.54 as our local Vauxhall dealer didn't have any in. It compares to the middle one in your Trade Club list with 680 Cold Cranking Amps. The cheapest one on Trade Club has the lowest CCA's if the weather is going to be sub-zero but if the car starts on the button it shouldn't have to do much cranking so probably won't be a problem.  :-\

I'd be very surprised if the local dealer has one ........ I fully expect to have to order it.  ;)
